AOptix Technologies is developing stand-off iris recognition systems utilizing adaptive optics technology originally invented for deep space astronomical imaging to correct for atmospheric distortions. Adaptive optics employs wavefront sensing and closed loop control to adjust tracking and focus in real-time.
